Principal Software Architect (Portland, OR)

Digital Blue is looking for a principal software architect to become part of research and development team located in Portland Oregon. This position will be responsible for identifying new technologies, evaluating feasibility, and developing proof of concept designs in support of the long-term Digital Blue roadmap.

The principal software architect will be a critical asset in a unique and creative environment. This position works closely with product development teams to evaluate new designs, product solutions, develop constraints, and design enclosures for consumer electronic devices. The ultimate goal for this position is to identify key intercept points for new technologies that are cost effective and competitive in consumer electronics and toys.

Flexibility is critical in this position! There are a wide variety of responsibilities in this role, including early concept research, feasibility analysis for new product ideas, integration, validating, and debugging. Candidate must be able to work in multiple areas of expertise including driver, middleware, installation, operating systems, imaging applications, media applications, assessing technical feasibility, and cost analysis.

Best candidate will have:

Demonstrated abilities in software engineering best practices and principles, including structured programming and object-oriented techniques and software design.
Strong software product engineering background, solid understanding of embedded real-time OS principles.
Well versed in object-oriented design, device driver integration, middleware, application installation, Direct X technologies, and Windows Media applications
Ability to troubleshoot, review and evaluate development strategies using the above technologies.
Knowledge of website content development and web technologies a plus.
Research new concepts, create strategy document, and write specifications.
Identify and recommend improvements to the application code and software strategies.
Strong analytical, organizational, problem solving and critical thinking skills.

Requirements:
This position requires a minimum of 8 to 10 years experience designing and implementing consumer products. Some domestic and international travel may be required. Demonstrated work experience in the development of retail products. BS Degree in Computer Science with a strong focus on development of consumer products.

Software Project Manager/Engineering Focus (Atlanta, GA)

This position will be responsible for assisting the manager with project development tasks. In addition to supporting the Manager, the Project Manager will own the day-to-day development tasks of sku feature update projects.

Responsibilities Include:

Manager software vendors and third party development
Well versed in object-oriented design, device driver integration, application installation, and Direct X technologies and Windows Media.
Ability to troubleshoot, review and vet developers strategies using the above technologies
Knowledge of web technologies would be an added advantage
Research new technologies
Create proofs of concepts

Hardware Project Manager (Project Manager/Consumer Electronic Products) - Atlanta, GA

Digital Blue is seeking talented hardware program managers with direct experience developing consumer electronics. This position is responsible for leading a cross-functional team from the concept phase thru development and into high volume manufacturing.

Required is a demonstrated track record of leading cross-functional teams including mechanical design, firmware development, PCB layout, debug, quality assurance, and packaging. In addition the successful candidate will manage external hardware vendors, which may include engineering consultants, branding partners, and Asian manufacturing facilities.

You will negotiate program staffing needs, manage schedule constraints, and drive the development team to deliver a high quality, cost effective product to the market place. Key to success is a high attention to detail, proactive problem solving, and diligent management of the development schedule. The successful candidate will need to develop a strong partnership with quality assurance, test planning, marketing, sales, and software development teams.

Flexibility is critical in this position as the consumer electronics industry shifts based on ever changing tends in sales and marketing! The successful candidate is expected to respond to various inputs ensuring a timely launch of new products.

This position requires a minimum of 3-5 years of experience with direct involvement developing or project managing innovative consumer electronic products. Experience with PC based USB imaging or audio devices required. Excellent written/verbal communication skills, project management experience and the ability to effectively bridge technical and creative teams are a must. Mechanical Engineer (Atlanta, GA)

Digital Blue is looking for a mechanical engineer to become part of its product development team. This position will be responsible developing the forms and parts for stylish technology products (such as digital cameras), and managing the tooling of these 3D designs with our Asia based hardware partners.

This hardware engineer will be a critical asset in a unique and creative environment. This position works closely with our hardware project manager through various phases of hardware design and development. The ultimate goal for this position is providing well developed design files (e.g. ProE) to our factories, and subsequently managing the proper tooling of a high quality mold injected product.

Flexibility is critical in this position! There are a wide variety of responsibilities in this role, including early concept research, feasibility analysis for new product ideas, integrating/validating/debugging mechanical design for complex electronic devices, and resolving manufacturing issues with our production facilities in Asia .

This position requires a minimum of 3 years of experience designing and implementing consumer electronic devices. Demonstrated work experience in the development of retail products with 3D CAD software is necessary. A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering is required.

Human Resource Generalist (Atlanta, GA)

Responsibilities:

Assist in maintaining compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment practices.
Conduct new hire orientation for all newly hired employees.
Make travel arrangements for job candidates when applicable
Arrange and possibly conduct any necessary internal training (presenting, organizing, and/or developing training programs) to meet the needs of the company or regulatory requirements.
Assist HR Manager with recruitment

Responsibilities:

Respond to ticket queues to ensure timely response of product issues
Troubleshoot escalated problems from team members
